I have many clients who want advice on how to dress for an interview. The best answer I can give is – “The way they expect you to dress.”
Quite frankly you can be as easily over-dressed as under-dressed.
A candidate should be more interested in “fitting in” then “standing out.” The most important thing for you to do at an interview is to CREATE RAPPORT: So dress like you fit in.
If you aren’t sure what the company culture may be in regards to attire, ask HR or the recruiter you are working with to set-up the interview. Remember, HR people are generally helpful, and they want you to succeed. If you ask for their advice, you’ll get perfect “insider information.”
